Parent Exhibit: Light And Color
Description: Why does the image on the left side of the lens look different from that on the right side? This exhibit consists of a vertical panel with word lists on it and two round lenses that visitors can slide over the panel. As they do so, they compare the image on the right side of the lens to the image on the left side. Some of the words appear to flip over and some do not. The puzzle to find out why. The left side of each lens is hollow and the right side is solid plastic. This exhibit demonstrates refraction and how lens work.
