Wade Smith is a fish ecologist and fisheries scientist that currently works out of Oregon State University’s Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport, OR. He received his Bachelor’s with an emphasis in Ecology from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA, his Master’s in Marine Science from Moss Landing Marine Laboratories in CA, and his Ph.D. in Fisheries Science from Oregon State University. Though interested in the ecology and conservation of marine fishes in general, most of his research has directly focused on sharks and their relatives, the skates and rays. Prior to undertaking his dissertation research, Wade was a staff scientist at the Pacific Shark Research Center in Moss Landing, CA.
Reel Science – Empirical Theater is a new monthly event open to all ages. No RSVP or scientific background required. Just bring your curiosity, sense of humor, and appetite for food, drinks, and knowledge! The Empirical Theater café will be open selling sausages, pizza, movie snacks, beer, wine and more.
