A Night of Sherlock

In celebration of Sherlock Holmes: The International Exhibition, join OMSI and OPB for a night of mystery and intrigue.

Readers Theatre Repertory will perform two radio plays based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s stories. In The Problem of Thor Bridge (original air date March 16, 1931) a former Senator approaches Holmes to investigate the murder of his wife in order to clear his children’s governess of the crime. In The Case of the Dead Adventuress (original air date February 5, 1945) takes place in southern France where Holmes and Watson help a young boy who is in serious trouble.

Following the live plays, we’ll delve deep into the world of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and his character, Sherlock Holmes, with a preview of the new PBS documentary, How Sherlock Changed the World. The special will explore the influence of the fictional detective on real forensic techniques and includes interviews with forensic scientists, toxicologists, crime scene investigators and criminal profilers. The full two-part show will premiere on OPB on Tuesday, December 17 at 9pm. Includes graphic content from real crime scenes, recommended for ages 13+.
