Celebrate Sustainably

Come with friends and family. Leave with tools and ideas.

Want to be a good steward of the environment? Feeling an economic pinch as the holiday season approaches? Join us on November 4 for Celebrate Sustainably, a brand new event featuring craft demonstrations, healthy treats, and performances by the Oregon Ballet Theater. We’re excited to share some great ideas on how to bring joy to your wintertime celebrations, while having a positive impact on the planet—and your pocketbook.

Get hands on and learn fun, easy ways to turn everyday items into unique and useful gifts. Need a new approach to gift-wrap? We’ll teach you creative ways to wrap presents in pieces of cloth, make gift-boxes out of junk mail, and create pretty bows out of old plastic bags. Eager to give the practical, delicious gift of food? We’ll have demos on making perfect apple pies, homemade eggnog, and cookie mix in a jar. Looking for gift ideas for your fashionable friends? Come learn to make jewelry made from repurposed bike parts and old jigsaw-puzzles, and get a crash-course in knitting and sewing while you’re at it!
