Science Playground is OMSI's exhibit hall for kids ages 0-6 and their families. Located on the second floor, Science Playground is a colorful and vibrant place for kids to play, explore, and engage in science.

At Sandland you'll find the full array of buckets, shovels, and other sand toys, plus special activity panels and machines to explore the physics of sand, There's even a fossil dig pit for budding dinosaur hunters! Waterworks features an amazing "water wall" as well as flow-through interactive activities in water tanks.

Our colorful and comfy reading tent and puppet theater is a magical setting for story time. Science Playground's carpeted infant area has plenty of activities to encourage little ones to use their developing motor skills, and also includes our popular fish tank.

Science Playground's glass double doors create a contained area just for our youngest visitors, while low walls, strategically designed exhibits, and glass windows looking from the lab into the exhibit area allow for an unencumbered view of the entire space. Two family bathrooms and one ADA restroom, as well as a private nursing area inside the hall, also add to parents' comfort and convenience.
