Event Hours
The auditorium, courtyard and meeting rooms are available from 7:00 am to midnight throughout the year. Reservations for private after-hours events in OMSI's exhibit halls and the Copeland Dining Room are available during the following times:
Memorial Day through Labor Day: From 7:00 pm to midnight
Labor Day through Memorial Day: From 6:00 pm to midnight and all day Mondays
Exhibits
Renting an exhibit hall (or halls) for a private after-hours event allows your guests to mingle among a variety of fun and interactive exhibits. Each hall presents a different theme (Life Science, Earth Science, etc.), and our Featured Exhibit Hall features nationally acclaimed
traveling exhibits. Seating tables and serving stations are set among the exhibits to provide a relaxing and interactive atmosphere.
Audio-Visual Equipment
OMSI can provide a range of audio-visual equipment to supplement your event or meeting, including
high-speed internet access, LCD projectors, overhead projectors, slide projectors, presentation screens and sound equipment.
Parking
OMSI has more than 800 parking spaces available free of charge in two large parking lots adjacent to our building. Handicapped spaces and bus parking are also available. Valet parking can be arranged through your Event Planner.
Security
OMSI provides one security guard per 500 guests in attendance. For events with more than 500 people, additional security arrangements will be made for you at an hourly rate.
Advance Deposit
A 50% non-refundable deposit of estimated rental charges, payable to OMSI, and a signed event agreement are required to reserve your space. The rental balance is due five days prior to the event. A catering deposit of 75%, payable to Bon Appétit, is due upon signing of an agreement. Final confirmation of the number of guests is due five days prior to the event, and the remaining 25% of the catering fee is due 24 hours prior to the event. Actual catering charges will be based on the final guest confirmation or actual attendance, whichever is greater.
Insurance
A certificate of liability insurance providing $1,000,000 per occurrence, naming OMSI as an additional insured, is required for all events held after hours.

Decorations
With its fantastic view and many colorful exhibits, an event at OMSI requires little in the way of additional decorations. However, we will be happy to work with you if you would like to bring in outside decorations or equipment.
Entertainment
Live musical entertainment is welcome at OMSI for any after-hours events and is a wonderful accompaniment to your function. Whether you prefer a live band and dancing or a background jazz ensemble, we will find just the right spot for the performers. You may also consider jugglers, magicians or live demonstrations by our OMSI education staff. Please let our event planners know if you require assistance in this area.
