FULL TIME POSITIONS Director of Corporate Giving The Director of Corporate Giving will work closely in conjunction with the Vice President of Development to help create and execute a successful Development program, including identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of gifts and grants by individuals and institutions. Their primary focus will be on securing gifts from individuals and corporations. The Director of Corporate Giving is also a spokesperson for OMSI in the community.
Lead Educator The Lead Educator is responsible for staffing and program development to facilitate the visitors’ learning experience with exhibits, school groups and special events in the exhibit hall. The Lead Educator works directly as a science educator in the hall, manages projects and programs, and takes responsibility for scientific accuracy in the activities presented in the halls.
PART TIME POSITIONS Submarine Tour Guide The Submarine Tour Guide provides daily interpretive tours aboard the submarine exhibit and performs necessary work related to the upkeep of the exhibit.
ON CALL POSITIONS Visitor Services Representative This position provides high quality customer services to OMSI visitors, in a fast-paced environment, including ticket-selling, greeting and providing information, and presenting and ushering in the OMNIMAX Theater and Planetarium. SPECIAL PROJECT POSITIONS Camp In Assistant The Camp-In Assistant is responsible for several aspects of the Camp-In Program, including: workshop set up, greeting of campers upon arrival, meal preparation, distribution and clean up. Assistants are also responsible for supervision of campers, overnight and morning duties, and dismissal. Camp In Instructor The Camp-In Instructor is responsible for preparing and presenting engaging science activities for campers and their chaperones during Museum Camp-Ins and Sub-Ins. Camp Counselor The Camp Counselor will provide safe, mature supervision, leadership and guidance for the students at all times. Outdoor Science Apprentice Instructor This position provides a mutually beneficial work association to individuals interested in working in experiential and environmental education fields. This position will closely resemble a student teaching position. This is a special project position- exempt from overtime, vacations, sick leave and medical benefits. SEASONAL POSITIONS Camp Cook for 2010 Season This position cooks for OMSI Science Camps program participants and staff during the programming season. This position is a Seasonal position expecting to run until every November. Outdoor Science Camp Instructor for 2010 Season Teach natural science and natural resource management topics in various settings, including trailside, van-based, rafting, canoeing and field classrooms, to students and campers enrolled in OMSI’s field programs, residential outdoor science school and summer science camps and adventures. Exempt position with benefits. Work schedule varies depending on programming.
