FULL TIME
Director of Corporate Giving The Director of Corporate Giving will work closely in conjunction with the Vice President of Development to help create and execute a successful Development program, including identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of gifts and grants by individuals and institutions. Their primary focus will be on securing gifts from individuals and corporations. The Director of Corporate Giving is also a spokesperson for OMSI in the community.
Outreach Educator The Outreach Educator plans and delivers entertaining and educational science activities to students participating in after-school enrichment programs. The Educator is responsible for presenting OMSI Outreach Science programs to schools and commnitiy organizations, participating in the development of new science club curriculum and preparing and maintaining program supplies and equipment.
Senior Educator The Senior Educator is responsible for facilitating the visitors’ learning experience within OMSI’s exhibit halls and labs. Visitors include the general public, school groups, and special event attendees. The Senior Educator works directly as a science educator on the museum floor, develops and delivers programs, coordinates staff and projects, and takes responsibility for scientific accuracy in the activities presented in the halls and labs.
Senior Research and Evaluation Associate
The Senior Research and Evaluation Associate designs, executes, and facilitates systematic evaluation and research studies for exhibits, programs, and museum initiatives and helps lead division efforts. Vice President of Development This is an excellent opportunity to lead a professional development staff and work in partnership with the president and board of trustees to strategize, develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan at a pivotal time in the organization. This role requires an experienced, pragmatic fundraising leader who will craft an overall strategy and become integrally involved in securing major gifts through donor cultivation and stewardship. Additionally, she/he must provide seasoned leadership, management, and organization to an able staff. As a critical part of the executive team, this highly visible leader will impact the community by enabling science literacy through OMSI.
PART TIME POSITIONS
Outreach Instructor The Outreach Instructor delivers and presents OMSI Outreach Education programs in an engaging and enthusiastic manner. The Instructor is also responsible for coordinating supplies and logistics and driving to external locations. Visitor Services Lead The Visitor Services Lead oversees the day-to-day customer service operations for OMSI’s admissions desk, theaters and program registration office. The Lead is responsible for front-line service coordination and acts as a customer service resource during all museum operating hours. Visitor Services Representative This position provides high quality customer services to OMSI visitors, in a fast-paced environment, including ticket-selling, greeting and providing information, and presenting and ushering in the OMNIMAX Theater and Planetarium. SPECIAL PROJECT POSITIONS Bilingual Research and Evaluation Apprentice
The Bilingual Research and Evaluation Apprentice develops and implements research and evaluation activities under the supervision of an evaluation mentor. Camp Cook
This position cooks for OMSI Science Camps program participants and staff during the programming season. Exhibit Assistant This position provides maintenance, repair and technical support for OMSI’s exhibits including traveling exhibits. Outdoor Science Instructor Teach natural science and natural resource management topics in various settings, including trailside, van-based, rafting, canoeing and field classrooms, to students and campers enrolled in OMSI’s field programs, residential outdoor science school and summer science camps and adventures. Exempt position with benefits. Work schedule varies depending on programming. SEASONAL POSITIONS There are no seasonal positions open at this time.
