Junior FIRST LEGO League Showcase

Jan. 10, 10:00 a.m.—4:00 p.m.

The youngest budding scientists will get the chance to show off their LEGO projects at the Junior FIRST LEGO League (Jr.FLL) showcase. This year's theme is Climate Connections. Jr.FLL is a robotics program geared towards children ages 6–9 and introduces basic design skills through a hands-on approach with the familiarity and fun of LEGO building. Teams of participants research, design, and build a model made with LEGO bricks and moving parts.
 


 

Teen Science Night: A Free Evening Just for Visitors Ages 13–18

Jan. 17, 7:00—10:00 p.m.

Rock out to a live DJ, play games, get hands-on in the Turbine Hall, and more!

 


Beyond Fact: Making Science Accessible

Beyond Fact, a partnership between OMSI and Multnomah County Library, is a new initiative consisting of book discussions, lectures and a community reading project designed to inform, engage and enlighten participants on issues of current importance in the sciences.

OMSI After Dark

February 25, 6—10 p.m.

OMSI After Dark is an opportunity for the 21-and-over crowd to explore the museum in a child-free environment. Visitors will also be able to taste and learn the science behind food and beverage favorites with local artisans, such as Caffe VitaFull Sail Brewing, and Clear Creek Distillery, and Moonstruck Chocolate. Appetizers and a cash bar will also be available for those who want more than just a taste!
