OMSI'S HISTORY

Many things have changed at OMSI over the years, but one thing that has remained constant is our ability to inspire wonder in our visitors by providing engaging science learning experiences. OMSI's core values—learning, creativity, and integrity—haven't changed over time either. These past 60 years have clearly demonstrated that the community recognizes the importance of our mission. Support for the museum has been expressed in many ways, from the leadership of the 14 directors who have shaped the museum to the creativity of exhibit designers and fabricators. It has also appeared as the dedication of volunteers and the generosity of donors. Our history is rich with stories of individuals who have made a lasting difference at OMSI and helped to create a place where young minds are challenged. Many of these children have gone on to become some of Oregon's top teachers, business leaders, scientists, and community leaders.
