Description: Why is the light from these two tubes different? This exhibit contains two fluorescent tubes, one coated and another uncoated, and a hand held diffraction grating. Visitors look at each tube through the diffraction grating viewer to see how the spectra produced by each differ. This exhibit demonstrates visible light spectra, fluorescence, and the effect that phosphor coatings have on the light emitted from a fluorescent lamp.
