Description: Become a crane operator and discover how simple machines work. A model of a simple crane that a child can sit on and operate. Young children turn a crank to operate a pulley system to raise and lower objects, use a friction brake to hold or release lifted objects, and use a set of pedals to rotate the crane on its base. The gear assembly and pulley system is encased but fully visible so visitors can observe these simple machines at work.
