Description: Can you create color from black and white? By spinning a black and white patterned disk, visitors create the illusion of color. Depending on the viewer's eyesight and the speed of the disk, the viewer may see alternating flashes of blue, green, brown, violet or gray. This exhibit demonstrates that a black and white patterned disk (Benham's Disk) can trick the eye into seeing color.
