SPEND THE NIGHT ABOARD
A REAL SUBMARINE!
It's the real deal! OMSI's USS Blueback is a retired U.S. Navy submarine and this is a rare opportunity to experience what it's like to live aboard a submarine (when it's not submerged, of course!). You'll learn about sonar, navigation and propulsion systems; peer through a periscope; explore the control room and the torpedo room; and sleep in the crew's quarters. Elementary recruits (grades 3-5) carry out a top secret mission aboard the USS Blueback. Middle and high school recruits (grades 7-12) learn in-depth, behind-the-scenes submarine operations. Grade 6 may join either group.
