Join us for three days of astronomy fun. We’ll spend the days discussing planets, stars and black holes. In the evenings, we’ll explore the night sky through our telescopes and share the stories behind the constellations.

Travel to the Oregon coast and use your senses to explore the landscape. While hiking, canoeing and swimming, you’ll look for critters in freshwater lakes, taste berries from the forest and smell the smoke from a campfire at the end of the day.

Learn about the origins of Oregon’s landscape during a fun-filled week of fossil hunting, rock hounding and thunderegg polishing. We’ll visit the Thomas Condon Paleontology Center, swim in the nearby John Day River and sing songs around the campfire at night.

Spend a week learning basic wilderness survival skills. We’ll build shelters, forage for food, find safe drinking water and learn how to find our way if lost in the wild. We’ll also discover how plants and animals have adapted to survive in the desert.

Explore the amazing animals and habitats of the high desert at Camp Hancock. During the day enjoy up-close encounters with insects, lasso lizards and search for animals among the sagebrush of eastern Oregon. The adventure continues in the evening when you meet birds of prey, explore with nocturnal animals and gaze into the sky to find creatures hidden in the stars.
