Alongside marine biologist Holly Lohuis, he invites viewers to dive into this whole new world that will leave them in awe of the beauty and diversity of the oceans – the source of all life on our planet – and inspire an even stronger desire to protect what they have either seen for the first time or perhaps re-discovered along the journey.
Narrated by renowned oceanographer Dr. Sylvia Earle, Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Secret Oceanintroduces audiences to over 30 species, illuminating behaviors captured for the first time thanks to the development of new tools that allow underwater filming in 3D, ultra-HD 5K, slow motion, macro, and with motion control, and takes them to remarkable and vibrant environments such as the Bahamas, Fiji, and Bimini.

Journey To Space | 3D
A celebration of space exploration, Journey to Space is a tribute to international cooperation in space research and a vision toward our near-term future beyond Earth’s orbit – a manned mission to Mars within a generation. Beautifully and inspiringly chronicling our history in space – including the shuttle program, MIR, the International Space Station and the Hubble telescope – Journey to Space recognizes these milestones in the context of our future in the cosmos, what we’ve learned, and how to apply this knowledge to deep space missions. The film takes audiences on a behind-the-scenes tour of the international effort to send astronauts to Mars within the next 20 years, culminating in a virtual voyage to the Red Planet. Dazzling and meticulous computer imagery depicts the new machines that will soon enter into our lexicon – Orion, Olympus, SLS rockets – spacecraft, habitats, landers, and vehicles necessary to achieve interplanetary travel, touchdown and colonization.
Journey to Space taps into the same human fervor and fascination that makes science fiction so popular, our unquenchable drive to explore and discover what lies beyond. This film, though, is not fiction. Mars is the next step in what will be an unending human odyssey to explore the cosmos. Journey to Space is about the next chapter, a vision certain to inspire today’s young explorers and dreamers. It is time to take the next great leap into space. It is time for our species, in the words of Carl Sagan, to “set sail across the cosmic ocean.” Next stop… Mars!

Building with Biology Forum: Should We Edit the Genome?
The Building with Biology Forum is FULL!
This forum-style program encourages in-depth discussion about the potential ways CRISPR (clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats), a new technology for genetic engineering, could be used across a variety of applications. During the forum, you will learn about genetic engineering and the related ethical and societal dimensions, along with several ways scientists are considering using it. In groups, you will choose one application to consider in depth and make a plan about whether and how to bring this technology to the world.
Building with Biology forums provide an opportunity to engage in thoughtful conversations with scientists about important issues regarding the potential societal and ethical implications of synthetic biology. Following the forum there will be demonstrations by local scientists on synthetic biology..
The forum is designed for adults and older youth (16 years+ recommended). Lunch will be provided. The event is free, but space is limited and reservations are required. The forum is FULL, reservations are no longer being accepted.
Building with Biology events are nationwide and happening at over 150 locations this summer to create conversations with scientists and the public around synthetic biology. These events are made possible with National Science Foundation grant no. 1421179 as part of the National Informal STEM Education Network.
