Journey to Space: The Exhibition

Journey to Space: The Exhibition will give you a glimpse of the challenges and triumphs of space exploration. Discover what is possible and what awaits in orbit and beyond.
Journey to Space was developed by the Science Museum of Minnesota and the California Science Center in cooperation with the Science Museum Exhibit Collaborative with major support from NASA.
Whether you choose to rocket through the galaxy, dive beneath the waves, or race through snow-capped mountains, an assortment of incredible adventures awaits in this multi-sensory ride experience.
Art of Science: Moon Craters (Ages 0-6)

Included in General Admission | Located in the Science Playground, the Discovery Lab offers a variety of creative, hands-on activities exclusively for children ages 0-6. Our Art of Science table activity changes weekly and may change without previous notice.

Electricity & Magnetism
How do electricity and magnetism make our modern world possible? And how did scientists build on each other’s discoveries to make useful transformations of energy? Students look at magnets, motors and generators, including the Van de Graaff generator and the Tesla coil.
Recommended for ages 8 and up. General Admission is not included in the price of the ticket.

National Parks Adventure
Explore the wilds of America in this new giant-screen film as big as the outdoors!
Narrated by Academy Award® winner Robert Redford, National Parks Adventure takes audiences on the ultimate off-trail adventure into the nation’s awe-inspiring great outdoors and untamed wilderness. Immersive IMAX® 3D cinematography takes viewers soaring over red rock canyons, hurtling up craggy mountain peaks and into other-worldly realms found within America’s most legendary outdoor playgrounds, including Yellowstone, Glacier National Park, Yosemite, the Everglades and Arches. Celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the national parks with world-class mountaineer Conrad Anker, adventure photographer Max Lowe and artist Rachel Pohl as they hike, climb and explore their way across America’s majestic parks in an action-packed expedition that will inspire the adventurer in us all.

Included in General Admission | The Earth Science Hall also houses the Paleo Lab, where staff and volunteers excavate real dinosaur and ancient Oregon fossils from plaster casts in a setting open to the public.

Submarine Tech Tour
We offer our 3-hour long Guided Tech Tour on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month. This special three-hour tour guided by an actual submarine veteran is for those that would like to learn more about the technical workings of the Blueback. The maximum tour size is 8 people, so plan ahead and reserve your spot. Tech Tours are for ages 12 and above. We also recommended that a regular tour be taken prior to a Tech Tour.

Food Science Demos
Included in General Admission | Located in the entrance to Theory, Food Science Demos feature hands-on activities and experiments all about the science behind the food we eat. Visitors can test foods for protein, learn how much sugar is in certain drinks, test soil pH for planting vegetables, put together a map of Oregon agriculture and much, much more!
