OMSI has a very active team of volunteers who contribute their time and talents to support OMSI’s educational mission. OMSI volunteers gain new skills and experiences, meet interesting people and make a tremendous impact on OMSI visitors.

Visitor Services Volunteer - Mummies of the World

Visitor Services Volunteers welcome visitors to OMSI and provide them with friendly and helpful service as they enter and navigate through the Mummies of the World exhibit.  The exhibit runs from June 14 to September 8, 2013, and volunteers are asked to commit to at least six shifts during that time period.

Featured Exhibits Interpreter - Mummies of the World

Featured Exhibits Interpreters for Mummies of the World will facilitate science exploration, answer visitors’ questions concerning artifacts and objects within the collection, and provide consistent customer service while maintaining policies during the run of the exhibit from June 14 to September 8, 2013..

Exhibit Production Cabinetmaker Volunteer

The Exhibit Production Cabinetmaker Volunteer supports the work of OMSI's Exhibit Production Shop by constructing, maintaining and repairing exhibit cabinetry.

Our Application Process

Application Process:

The first step to becoming an OMSI Volunteer is to send us your application. Once we receive your application, we will contact you to set up an interview to discuss your interests and availability.

Fill it out in Word and email it to: VolunteerServices@omsi.edu

Print the PDF version of the application and fill it out by hand and mail or FAX it to: 503.797.4568

Application Deadlines:

Group interviews are held monthly, and applications must be received by the Thursday before the interview session you would like to attend.
